Hi, I’m Lisa May, founder of In The Know Mexico.

I provide high-touch, local-style support for people relocating to Mexico who need more than simple residency paperwork — they need friend-level trust with professional-grade Mexico lifestyle support.

For the past 12 years, I’ve been traveling the world, exploring new cultures, cities, and ways of life. Mexico has always drawn me back — I was going back and forth almost every year, discovering the richness, beauty, and warmth of its communities. After years of exploring, sampling different cities, and learning what makes life abroad really work, I finally chose San Miguel de Allende as my home base just a few years ago. It’s where I’ve built roots, deepened relationships, and truly come to understand what makes life in Mexico both magical and practical.

Many of my clients describe working with me as having a trusted local on the ground — someone bi-cultural who understands the systems, culture, and unspoken realities of settling into expat life. Behind that warmth is a very intentional role. I work as a Mexpat concierge, helping clients uncover the right housing, plan relocation timing, prepare for residency, and set up the practical foundations of daily life — from neighborhoods and leases to lifestyle logistics that make Mexico feel livable, not overwhelming.
